Christmas pictures!

This is just basically a picture of me and the Lego Merlion because I simply thought it looked very accurate to the actual merlion and I think it is a really good Lego sculpture! (PS: if you don't know, this Lego Merlion doesn't spit water out, but the real Merlion sculpture in Singapore does.) Also, I have more pictures of lighting!

If I remember correctly, I was taking a picture of the Singapore cable cars that had lights inside them, which is what all that white light is.

Elder sister penguin and the brightly-lit surroundings!

I actually have another picture, but somehow blogger is unable to let me upload it here properly. :P Anyway, that's it for now!

Chinese Stunt Performance and Lion Dance - Chinese New Year 2013

We were at Compass Point on 6 Feb 2013 and realised that there were Lion Dance performances at 5 pm and 8 pm.  We managed to catch the 5 pm Lion Dance performance but somehow, I probably accidentally pressed the wrong button, so did not manage to film the Lion dance performance.  A waste of my effort.  Sigh...

After the Lion Dance performance, we went to the ground floor.  I was taking pictures of the stage decorations when the next performance started.  It was Chinese Stunt Performance and luckily, this time round, I managed to film this performance.

On 15 Feb 2013, we were having lunch at the Kopitiam food court when we heard the sound of cymbal and drum beat which meant there was a lion dance performance somewhere in Compass Point.  So I walked towards the corridor to check where the performance was and saw that the Lion Dance Troupe was performing at SuperCuts Hair salon.  After we had our lunch, while Lynn and I were on the second floor, the Lion Dance Troupe arrived at Jean Yip Hub.  As we happened to be around there walking towards Metro, we stopped to watch the performance.

Hope you enjoyed these videos!

Chinese New Year 2013

It will be the start of the Year of the Snake in another one week's time.  Many of us had started shopping for new year goodies, clothes and gifts.

We went to Compass Point last Wednesday and found that the decorations were very nice.  So I snapped a few pictures of it.  Here's one of the pictures.

Sera had been looking forward to visiting Chinatown, so we went on last Friday to let the kids have a feel of what it is like in Chinatown during this time of the year.  We had dinner at Macdonald in Chinatown Point.

It seemed that Chinatown Point was newly renovated and now had shops such as Hockhua Tonic, Daiso, NTUC, 3 for $10 shop etc.  Sera was happy to buy a Snake soft toy decoration at the 3 for $10 shop.  By the way, the snake soft toy costs $2 even though the shop is named 3 for $10 shop.

We were anxious to go out to the street to view the street decorations so did not shop there for long.  Here are the pictures that we had taken.  Enjoy!

Christmas Lightings/decorations at Orchard Road 2012

Finally had the time to go to Orchard Road yesterday.

The weather was quite good, did not rain for the whole day.  The kids bought some toys from OG at Orchard Point and then we had our dinner at The Centrepoint.  After dinner, we took some photos and videos outside The Centrepoint .

After that, we crossed over to Orchard Central and took some pictures of the Christmas decorations outside the building.

As we walked into Orchard Central, we were happy to find many nice Christmas decorations that were good for phototaking.

This last photo was taken at the OC photo booth.  We chose the scenery that we wanted, posed for the camera and keyed in our email address for the system to send the photo to us.
